What is Dichroic Metal?
Dichroic metal are metallic particles that are extremely heat tolerant. In fact they are so tolerant of heat that NASA uses a type of dichroic metal to coat the heat resistant tiles on the underside of the Space Shuttle protecting it upon re-entry. You may be more familiar with it as a result of it's new found artistic use in blown glass smoking accessories. It's similar to "gold leaf" in that Phallix purchases the dichroic metal in sheets and then cuts it into strips or smaller pieces used in the dichroic etchings. ***NOTE: Although most of our Pyrex sex toys are microwaveable DO NOT microwave any Pyrex sex toy that contain dichroic art work.***
